ANT began with a procedural Houdini growth simulation developed by artist George Barratt — an organic, branching structure that existed only as computational geometry.

Translating this into a physical object required resolving a set of problems the simulation was never designed to address: wall thickness, structural integrity, undercuts, and the tolerance limits of the fabrication process. The geometry was rebuilt and optimised for manufacture without compromising the visual character of the original simulation.

The final piece was cast in resin with a black satin finish. 40 × 40 × 15 cm.
